What does it mean to be a refugee in a new country?
The Task:
Using what they had learnt and found out in the other workshops, MPPs spent time writing a 'Welcome Charter' to help newcomers arriving as refugees in their schools. Time was also spent writing up what they had heard from the visiting refugee children, highlighting the experiences they had been through.
The two photographs here show some of the first attempts to produce a Welcome sign and a poster asking for help for refugees.
