Kosovo
In 1999, 400,000 Albanian Kosovar children were forced out of their country to escape being harmed by the invading soldiers from Serbia and the bombing of Kosovo by NATO. Thousands of Serb children living in Kosovo had to leave their homes in fear of the Albanian Kosovars. Betim, a twelve year old boy from central Kosovo said, "the most difficult thing about the war was that we had to leave the home that my family lived in. I saw a very close friend of mine killed. I was very upset because he was a friend of all the kids in the village".
