In the north of the country, the Tamil Tiger army have been fighting to become independent from the rest of Sri Lanka. This civil war has been going on for 17 years, and 64,000 Sri Lankans are now refugees in India. Along with her two younger brothers and her parents, fourteen year old Bamini has moved home more times than she can remember. She says about one move, "we walked in the rain, drinking the rain water for two days".
