Reviews
“Global
Health Matters?” (Worldaware 2003) This
new 16 page full colour booklet looks at global health
issues as a way of joining up and integrating programmes
of study in Geography, Citizenship and PSHE. With a
particular focus on HIV/AIDS, learning activities encourage
students to think about how health issues are increasingly
globalised and how problems are shared in different
parts of the world. As well as examining the effects
of poor health on people’s lives, the booklet
explores ways of treating diseases, and makes suggestions
for action that students themselves can take.
“Global
Health Matters?” is a companion to the
“Whose Right to Water?”
and “Rainforests for Tomorrow”
booklets, also available from Worldaware. The “Global
Health Matters?” and “Whose
Right to Water?” booklets cost £3.00
each or £30 for a value pack of 15 (Code B-205
and B-203 respectively), and the “Rainforests
for Tomorrow” booklet costs £2.75
each or £25 for a value pack of 15 (Code B-572).
