Some Caribbean islands have more visitors than islanders! This table compares the number of tourists to the number of islanders in five Caribbean countries. The last column shows the number of tourists in each country compared to the number of people that live there.
Can you help me finish off the last column by dragging one of these numbers into the right place on the table? Click here if you need some help with working out the ratios.
From your finished table, which Caribbean islands seem to be swamped by tourists? How can you tell? And how would you feel if you lived on one of these islands?
The islands of Trinidad and Tobago are not yet swamped by tourists, but things may change in the future ...
In Tobago, primary schoolchildren are lucky enough to get free trips in glass bottom boats to see the underwater paradise of Buccoo coral reef. This way, they can learn more about the reef and the fish that live there so they are more likely to take care of it in the future.
But many people are angry about a plan to build a hotel on the island that would destroy life on Buccoo reef. Click on the hotel to find out more.
Make a poster to campaign against the hotel plans - visit www.buccooreeftrust.org/gallery.asp for some pictures of Buccoo reef that you could copy and paste onto your poster.
