    With these grim forecasts for the future, many believe that we should practise the �precautionary principle� – this means that while we cannot be certain about future climate change, it�s best to be safe than sorry, and therefore we should take action now just in case �

    The Swedish scientist, Bjorn Lomborg disagrees. Although he accepts that climate change is a real possibility, Lomborg believes that the impacts are too far into the future to worry about them now. Instead, we should focus on today�s problems, and any action to control climate change should only take place when there is a guaranteed, recordable result.
