The Climate
Just like the landscape, Mexico has a variety of different climates. This is mainly because of the differences in altitude (the height above sea level). It is also close to or in the area we call the Tropics, an area that extends North and South of the Equator.

The climate figures and graphs here are for two main cities - the capital, Mexico City, and an important coastal resort, Acapulco. Check the map to see where they are.

Harry " Use the map. to find Acapulco. How would you describe its location? Use the map and the climate graphs to explain why this would be a good place for a beach holiday."
Cecille " Find Mexico City on the map. Describe its location. How is the climate here different from Acapulco? What do you think is the main reason why it is different?"
