  Brazil is about 35 times the size of the UK, and crosses several climatic zones. Where the climate is equatorial, tropical rainforest is the dominant ecosystem. Climatic conditions elsewhere in the country give rise to other ecosystems.

To find out how Brazil's ecosystems vary, and how these correspond to changes in the climate, click on the different icons on the map.
